No radiation is good. 100 CPM is the government alert level and when you should definitely leave. The radiation level here remains, generally, in the 40s range. There are two nuclear power plants within 13 miles of Taipei, and a nuclear storage facility within 50 miles. Another power plant is 250 miles away to the south. A new plant will come online very near Taipei, in 2016. The oldest plant, Jinshan, one of those near Taipei, has two GE 636-MW BWR reactors like those at Fukushima. Jinshan will be decommissioned when the new plant comes online.
